Hello to No Holds Barred
Kirk Donahue underestimates new hire and musclehunk Luis Otero. He pays a price for that, but he dusts himself off and zeros in on ending Otero's ring career before it has started. Beating the handsome new guy - almost a requirement at BG East - is what heels are made for.
Luis is strong, rough, and hot. He's bigger and heavier than Kirk. But long story made short, he needs to pay his dues before he takes on a heel of Kirk's caliber. It's clear he comes to BGE with some knowledge of the ring. Yet he lacks Kirk's level of charisma. It takes most newbies six or more matches to get the hang of BG East wrestling style.
But look at those pecs, biceps, and thighs. If Otero isn't built for the squared circle, who is? He has fifty pounds on Kirk, but he lacks cunning. But consider how long it took Donahue to climb the ranks of heelery. For the first half of Kirk's BGE career, he had a bullseye on his back. Now, he eats muscular newbies like Luis for breakfast.
Kirk is not really an out-and-out villain. He's cool and calm, even sorta polite, at the start of this match. The heel in him breaks through when it looks like he's losing. He can't tolerate losing, especially losing to a newcomer. Soon as he realizes that Luis has what it takes to win this match, that it's not going to be an easy fight, that's when Kirk begins to hurt and cripple his opponent.
I don't know what BGE's game plan is, but I think Otero could be a great hero type, in the mold of Brad Rochelle or Gabe Steele. I'd like to see him to beat up some bad guys.

P.S. Today is Kid Leopard's birthday. I hope it's the best one yet. Fans of underground wrestling, respect and honor the Boss.
