Heads Hit the Canvas

Bryan Danielson vs Daniel Garcia, Continental Classic Blue League - 6 December 2023 (All Elite Wrestling)

AEW boasts, "The golden era of wrestling games is back!" To judge by this match, it definitely is. Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia are merciless in the squared circle, as evident in this match that ends with a knockout (or a choke-out) by referee's decision.  Neither man would accept a tap out. The match was a culmination of back-and-forth battles earlier in the year - the victory bouncing back and forth between them.

Both wrestlers thrive on pain in sweaty assaults that appear to be all-she-wrote finishers. Danielson and Garcia keep most of the match on the canvas and away from the ropes. No high-flying here. Pile drivers only momentarily faze them. Faces get stomped on. I'm not sure of the meaning of Garcia's ritual dance in the seventh gif, but I like it. In the last gif, Danielson scrubs the ring floor with Garcia's ear.
