Pantomime Wrestling
Max Hunter vs Alex, wrestleralex (Watchfighters)
Pantomime wrestling is any formulaic performance of fighting, especially when holds are obviously held back and when the goals are obviously rehearsed. It's a genre unto itself, played well in this example by Alex and Max. Like most pantomime the motions are slightly slower than real struggle and attack. This pantomime shows off both participants' flesh and muscles. Max's lack of body hair offsets Alex's hairy chest. Max wears a mask, which suggests secrecy and/or mystery, while Alex is maskless, drawing attention to his facial expressions, especially those involving anger and surprise. Pantomimes like this accentuate lust and mating calls, referred to as "vocalizing" (in biology). Max and Alex work well with each other, toning down pain and wrath.
