Muscle Masterpiece

Marco vs Kasee, Muscle Masterpiece (UnderGround Wrestler)

Muscle Masterpiece  is a compelling and original match. I'd even say it's a small triumph with a big punch.  Its appeal depends largely on how you feel about its combatants. I happen to be big on both, especially Marco. The match features familiar elements such as sneak attacks, muscle worship, muscle punishment, and comeuppance alongside elements I have not seen before in underground wrestling: a ladder (of the sort one sees all the time in indie wrestling on TV, used here as both a weapon and a launching pad), a staircase (ominous in its effect, though the steps are never practically used in the fight), the willful destruction of works of art, and a shower. I've seen some of these things in previous matches, but never all together.

These elements are secondary to the faces and physiques of the video's two stars. Kasee, the underground's latest boy-toy, has a sweet face and near-perfect musculature for a dewy-eyed young man. Marco, the boss of the year-old site Underground Wrestler, has a brutally handsome face and a body that would look right at home in a sword-and-sandal movie. At first, the bodies are treated with relative tenderness. Palms and fingers glide over the rippled muscle as if polishing it. Then there's the rough stuff - abdominal and pectoral punches, a makeshift tree of woe, and attacks with foreign objects (the aforementioned works of arts). 

Kasee looks as serene as a Buddhist monk; Marco looks like an existentialist crook in a French heist movie. The contrast has a seductive pull. Innocence versus Experience. The deadpan contest plays out pretty much the way I expected it to, except for the bounty of props employed in the attacks. Cocky Kasee thinks he has lessons to teach Marco, who has seen it all. Kasee shows his stuff for the first half of the video. Marco cuts him down to size in the last half. I wouldn't say there's a lot of chemistry between the two, but their strong differences make the quirky battle intriguing.
