Rex Bedford vs Dash Decker, Reward or Remorse (88 Wrestling)

A fine match, brimming with muscle, sweat, and male-on-male aggression. 88Wrestling gets better with each new release, and Reward or Remorse  is a high mark for the company and its stars. I was drawn to this match particularly because of Rex Bedford. He may not be underground wrestling's most expressive character, but his performances are earnest and tightly focused. In the ring, Bedford's resting face is absorption in the task at hand. He brings MMA intensity to everything he does. He's never anything less than in the moment.

At 6' and 200#, Dash Decker is physically my ideal. It's not often that statistics melt me, but these do. With 40 pounds on Rex, he could coast through this fight ... if it weren't for the pugnacity of his opponent. Decker usually conveys an air of smug entitlement. His manner infuriates Rex, who invests all his attention and effort to cutting the big man down to size. I might not have thought it previously, but Dash is the perfect foil for Rex - Mr. Aloof vs Mr. Intensity. Of course, it takes effort to come off as this cool and dispassionate, especially with Bedford up your ass every minute of the match.

Rex has stated that he prefers bigger opponents, as a rule. They stoke the fire in him, and Rex is somebody who keeps his fire stoked 24/7. I'm not sure whether the guy ever relaxes. He's "on" every minute in every match I've seen him in. And he acknowledges and accepts the brutality of the wrestling ring, saying, "I like to hurt people. Just so happens that's how you win." His dedication and persistence make him a scary opponent. Rex Bedford takes nothing lightly. You can see it in his face ... and, obviously, 100 percent in his fight.
