Champ Mathews vs Rip Byson, Dancing on Thin Ice (Limitless Wrestling)

You gotta love a heel who not only wears sunglasses into the ring but wrestles with them on ... until his opponent flings him across the ring. After that opening volley, Champ Mathews goes into attack mode in and out of the ring, with some illegal assistance from his tag partner, Conner Murphy.

Rip "Ripper" Byson has about eight years less ring experience than Champ, but he's burly and short-tempered, always plusses in pro wrestling. Little does sexy Champ know it, but he is playing with fire here. Champ is so cocky that he charges right in, grabbing an unexpected lead. Murphy provides help in a key moment outside the ring, distracting Byson in order to make space for Champ to high-kick the guy in the face (third GIF above).

The crowd is behind Byson, which infuriates Mathews. Champ's haughty self-confidence is not going to do him any good once wild-man Byson turns the fight around in a furious display of strength and opportunism. You may recall I praised Byson for keeping up the momentum in his match against Brad Cashew over the summer. Momentum is abundant in this match, too.
