Gabe Steel vs Jeremy Tyler, Wrestlingmale Conquers 3 (Wrestlingmale)

Their matching gear is translucent, but Steel and Tyler soon lose the singlets to wrestle in the mat room and the ring buck naked. The wrestling is awkward at times. Deciding how and where to pounce slows the action somewhat, but there's no denying the sumptuousness and firmness of the muscle on display. Tyler returns to the BGE facilities to take on fan-favorite Gabe Steel for Wrestlingmale, a third in the recent series of American-made but European-produced matches.

The naked muscle reminds me of marble statues of wrestlers. At times heroic poses substitute for actual wrestling, but I'm all right with that since my interest in the sport is as much aesthetic as it is athletic and erotic. A slow-motion replay of a high kick to the neck is more successful and more beautiful than the move in real time.

The match holds no surprises. The ultimate winner is easy to predict, but I would not call the match one-sided, exactly. Both men have their hope spots, but they are unequal in strength and technique. Attitudes differ, too. Gabe is as smiley and self-confident as ever. Like his BGE match with Joe Robbins last year, Jeremy cockily provokes his opponent's rage, but, unlike Robbins, Steel is reluctant to give up his beaming smile. Here, the clash in temperaments works against the match: Gabe is not as prone to fury as Joe was - and I think some fury and recklessness would have probably given the match an extra boost. (In fairness to the match, though, it is billed as a "private lesson.")
