Where Are You Even From?

Seon Cruz vs Jason Aleqsander, Ring Rookies 7 (BG East)

A favorite ring match of mine is Wrestlefest 2: Brad Rochelle spanking Patrick Donovan in front of a hooting crowd of fellow BGE wrestlers. I still think a ring match needs a crowd. Without a crowd, a match is like performing stand-up comedy to an empty house. For intimacy, wrestle on a mat in close quarters. But I don't make the rules at BG East, and just this once, I may be wrong.

This is Jason Aleqsander's first time at BGE. Seon Cruz has had a previous match, so both fighters are itching to make names for themselves. They spend a couple of minutes impressing each other with acrobatics.  Jason is particularly good at backflips. Then, Seon asks him for one more cartwheel. Think you know where this is heading? You are right. Seon clotheslines him.

Seon continues his monologue through a side headlock, a front headlock, a small package, and a few elbow drops. All Jason can do is grunt and writhe. Seon puts Jason in a half crab and leans back for a full clutch of Aleqsander's curly hair.  Cruz works Jason over for the first half; then, both men strip off their trunks to reveal another pair of trunks, but smaller. It's time for Jason to take charge, and he levels Seon with the same clothesline Seon used earlier.

Aleqsander rules for the next six minutes. culminating with a monkey flip that leaves Cruz winded. By now, both men are sweating, and maybe it's time for Cruz to dominate again. Maybe not. Anything could happen, right? Bingo, right again.

This is a high-energy brawl that's super-satisfying. These guys don't only saunter, wagging their butts. Some serious moves are in play, and the finisher comes sudden and hard. The winner strikes a double biceps pose before exiting the room, leaving the loser to wonder what the hell just happened.
