Krush vs Jason Anders, Beer Brawl (Krushco)

Dim lighting creates a murky atmosphere for this unusual entry in the Krushco collection. Twisted underground wrestler Jason Anders completes the setting, as these two characters clash on Krush's territory, after they chug down cheap beer to numb themselves for the fight to come. And what a deranged fight it is!

An argument can be made that all of Krush's wrestling videos are unusual. Unlike other online wrestling sites, Krushco is a one-man operation - Krush is the star and auteur of almost all Krushco productions. Even so, this one stands out, in large part because of Jason. UCW fans are familiar with Jason's debauched style of wrestling aggressiveness. Typically, the UCW matches end with a babyface or good guy beating the shit out of rotten cheater Anders, but Anders sometimes comes out on top, and his character is always more intriguing than his opponents are.

Often, the Krush character defies expectations: usually heroic, he sometimes plays the villain. Getting drunk with Jason is either a terrible or fantastic idea. You be the judge. Alcohol lowers inhibitions and increases pain tolerance, allowing fighters to be rougher and less cautious than usual. (I have a few pre-21st-century examples of this condition, though, as you might guess, the memory of them has faded. I can't decide whether I wish there were video recordings of these crazy bouts. Probably best that there are none.)

There's not much plot in this video, but its rawness (bordering on decadence) has a strong and strange appeal, for me, anyway. The wrestlers start out in briefs, lose the briefs, reclaim the briefs, and lose them again. A spectacle like this requires no plot, though I would have appreciated closer and more careful camerawork.
