The Inescapable Allure of Strong and Dangerous Men

Julius vs Axel Reed, Titan Session - EP08 (Wrestlingmale)

Pure gold. A real wrestling match between two heels with zero losses. Julius is the burly 282-pounder, standing six-foot two with two wins, and Axel is six foot one and weighs in at 209 pounds, with three wins. The stats alone get me hard. It turns out that the two know each other, much to Etienne's surprise. Etienne is on hand for a short while and then disappears behind the cameraman. Axel is ready to roll. Julius is sweaty six minutes into the contest.

The stark whiteness of the space reminds me of Kubrick, specifically the white room at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the fiberglass mannequins at the Korova Milk Bar in Clockwork Orange, also the uniforms of the Droogs. There's something sinister about whiteness - like straitjackets and ghosts.

Julius vs Axel is my new favorite Wrestlingmale match. It's rough and tumble. Even the score board cards get smashed. Axel's prosthetic fangs add another layer of intimidation. Both men have broken a sweat by the last half of the ordeal. In my opinion, the effect is better than oil because it tracks the level of strain, muscle to muscle.

Axel is in his mid-twenties, an introvert and a relative newcomer who has nevertheless made a strong impression at Wrestlingmale. He's trained in Muay Thai and Savate (French-style kickboxing), adding to his legitimacy as a fighter.  (Too bad he's straight, fellas - as if I had a chance - but he's still fun to watch.) Julius, in black briefs, is in his late thirties with pro-wrestling experience and MMA training. An extrovert and bodybuilder, he's like a boulder in the fight room.
